PETDER,
the Oil Industry Association of Turkey has been established by the leading fuel
distribution companies in September 1996 in order to work through the chain of
activities from manufacturing of petroleum products to the level of consumption.
Fuels, lubricants and LPG companies with licensed operations in Turkey’s fuel
market under the brands of
Alpet, Belgin, BP, BP Gaz, Delta, Erk Petrol, Exxon Mobil, Petline, Petrol Ofisi, Shell,
Shell & Turcas, Shell Gaz, Total, Turcas and Turkuaz
are the members of PETDER.
PETDER
members have wide spread nationwide operations in the downstream side of the
supply chain consisting of storage, distribution, transportation and marketing of
all fuels, lubricants and LPG including aviation and marine fuels. With this
scope, PETDER is one of the most important non-governmental industry
organizations in the petroleum & fuel business of Turkey, which
accounts of about 30 million tons with an annual trading volume of
approximately 47 billion$
The objectives of PETDER include; achieving highest level of HSE standards,
improving transparency, professionalism and technical excellence in our
downstream industry, that are in accordance with the general provisions of the
Petroleum & LPG Market Laws. In this respect PETDER communicates with the
Regulatory Authorities to provide best and un biased technical proposals for
industry issues, communicates through media in order to improve efficiency and
competitiveness of downstream industry, and works to provide clear and reliable
market data for our industry.
With these objectives, PETDER and its members implement highest level health,
safety and environment principles in their operations, employ advanced level of
technical standards and safety measures throughout the industry operations.
Therefore, PETDER and its members has achieved an outstanding record of safety.
In addition, PETDER has been actively involved in collection and recovery of
waste engine oil nationwide.
Through this project, waste engine lubricants are being collected from thousands
of service stations and auto service shops throught the the country, free of
charge. Collected waste oils have been properly treated for energy recovery in
licensed plants according to the terms issued by the Ministry of Environment
and Forestry, additional costs being beared by motor oil manufacturers. The
project has received wide level attention and PETDER has been authorized to
operate on behalf of motor oil producers.
